Madu Akhmedova’s solo exhibition «Forms of Practice»

Madu Akhmedova’s exhibition reflects the artist’s reflections on the role of the sacred in modern times.

The focus is on the study of the phenomena of emptiness and non-duality, the interdependence of all phenomena, as well as the internal conflict between the sacred and the secular, between spiritual practice and everyday life, between the relative and the absolute.

This space of rupture is the transition point from one pole to another, where traditional binarity ceases to be stable. Within the framework of this practice, the artistic and the meditative come together: observation functions as a method, form as a consequence of inner work, and the process itself becomes a way of being at the moment of transition.

The works presented at the exhibition capture the experience of learning Tibetan thangka painting during Madu’s travels through Northern India and Nepal, and also reflect the general vector of reflection on how spiritual practice is integrated into the life of a modern person.
