Time is a phenomenon of our life, the work of our consciousness, it defines our reality, guides our actions and thoughts, sets boundaries for us and shapes our history. It seems to us to be a forward-looking movement from the past, through the present into the future. The events of the word flow into one another, forming a line where each person is allocated a separate time period — his life.
Human life is a kind of project in time, where personality is the result of studying one’s own history. We know ourselves based on the analysis of our history, our actions and the memory of them. The totality of such actions, their location in time, gives us an understanding of ourselves as a person with different characteristics. Gaining individuality is not possible without analyzing one’s own history. In our lives, time represents the space in which this analysis takes place, the field in which a person invents himself.

We conceptualize ourselves through time, but we also conceptualize time through ourselves.
A person is able to perceive time only in relation to himself, through his sensuality and reason. We have no other tools than our personal experiences, emotions, feelings, and other similar reflections. Time loses its meaning by itself; without a person, the very concept of change and sequence disappears. Time becomes an attribute of one’s own existence, a human feature, a gift.

What exactly is time? Time is a separate form, an independent substance, the structure of our memory, or a state transmitted to us by our senses.
By means of sensory organs, mental constructs or scientific arguments, a person creates interpretations about time, believes in them and lives within the framework of his ideas. In history, time has always been subject to various modifications and changes in interpretation, time has changed in time.
In art, artists often turn to the theme of time, reflecting and offering their own interpretations of it. The ideas of immediacy, transience, restraint, frailty, isolation, calmness, ruthlessness, infinity and finiteness have always surrounded the theme of time and often reflected the era in which certain views were formed. Through time, art translates the system of perception of the present, allows us to combine and expand existing interpretations and propose new ones: in what «own time» does each of us live?
A total of 14 artists are participating in the project, among them: the art group Collective Actions, Andrey Filippov, Vera Svetlova, Viktor Dyuzhev, Grecht, Denis Patrakeev, Elena Gubanova&Ivan Govorkov, Nestor Engelke, Polina Rukavichnikova, Sergey Mironenko, Sergey Poteriaev, Slava Nesterov and Eduard Steinberg.
